Would you like to stop just taking "snapshots" and instead start creating quality photographs? Whether you use your camera phone or use a "real" camera, this hands-on two-part introductory workshop is for you!  Work with the instructor who will teach you the basic concepts and the "rules" of composition. Using your digital camera and given a specific photographic "assignment" during the workshop, get feedback and suggestions to help improve your photos.

DSLR Shooting Modes Made Easy: A Two-Part Hands-On Introductory Workshop

Do you have a digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera, a mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC), or a bridge camera that you only use in the AUTO mode? This hands-on introductory workshop will teach you how to set it up, teach you about the camera's other shooting modes and how to use them to take your photography to the next level.  Work with the instructor in learning how to set up your camera to get the best results. In the second meeting, practice shooting with the instructor (and possibly a model) to learn by doing. Learn what the aperture priority and shutter speed priority modes are, when and how to use them, and how to control the exposure to assure that you capture quality images.

  • Students will need their own digital single lens reflex (DSLR) camera, mirrorless interchangeable lens camera (MILC), or bridge camera.

GoPro Studio Made Easy: A Hands-On Introductory GoPro Studio Workshop

This is the follow-up workshop to GoPro Made Easy. Better than any tutorial video, in this workshop you will, once again, work hands-on with the instructor to learn to use the GoPro Studio. Specifically, you will learn how to import videos and photos from your GoPro camera into a computer, how to select specific video clips, how to use professionally designed templates to create exciting and dramatic video compilations, how to export the finished video, and how to share it on your favorite social media sites.

  • Students will need to bring the USB cable that came with the camera.
  • There should already be some video footage on the memory card.
