GoPro Made Easy: A Hands-On Introductory GoPro Camera Workshop

Are you intimidated by your GoPro? Or, do you just wish that you understood how to use it better? If so, this hands-on introductory workshop is for you! Better than any tutorial video, in this workshop you will work hands-on with the instructor. Specifically, you will learn what the different camera settings are, how to link your GoPro camera to your smartphone, how to edit short video clips without a computer, and how to share videos and photos directly from your smartphone.

Required by students:
  • Students will need their own GoPro Camera.
  • Don't forget to charge the battery!
  • Students will need their own smartphone.

GoPro Studio Made Easy: A Hands-On Introductory GoPro Studio Workshop

This is the follow-up workshop to GoPro Made Easy. Better than any tutorial video, in this workshop you will, once again, work hands-on with the instructor to learn to use the GoPro Studio. Specifically, you will learn how to import videos and photos from your GoPro camera into a computer, how to select specific video clips, how to use professionally designed templates to create exciting and dramatic video compilations, how to export the finished video, and how to share it on your favorite social media sites.

Required by students:
  • Students will need their own GoPro Camera and Laptop
  • Don't forget to charge the battery!
  • Students will need to bring the USB cable that came with the camera.
  • There should already be some video footage on the memory card.
  • Students who want to keep their finished video should bring a USB drive.

Don Oberheu (pronounced “o-ber-hoy”) is an avid photographer and videographer. Don received his BA in Japanese and MA in Political Science from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and JD from Willamette University College of Law. He has been teaching digital photography and digital art at both the Pearl City and the Wai’anae campuses of Leeward Community College for five years. He enjoys teaching traditional and non-traditional students, helping them have fun while they learn.
